Abbotsbury is an old village, settled amongst the hills behind the great Chesil Bank in Dorset. High above the village on a hill stands the 14th century St Catherine’s Chapel, built as a place of pilgrimage and retreat by the monks of the former Abbotsbury Abbey.
The Pulteney Bridge is one of the few bridges in Europe (I think there are about 4) with shops on it. Therefore as we first went to the center of Bath, we had some problems with the orientation, because we didn't realize, that we were on a bridge and had already crossed the Avon.
